Jay Vandegrift, President and Founder

Jay Vandegrift is a founder of Wellness Coaches USA and has been its president since the company’s inception in 2002. Mr. Vandegrift is also a founder of WellBridge Partners, the majority shareholder of WCUSA, and the president and sole member of EHV Associates, the general partner of WellBridge Partners.

Prior to his role in WellBridge, EHV, and WCUSA, Mr. Vandegrift was active for 15 years in the healthcare industry. In 1995, he founded and served as president of ArgosyHealth, a national provider of workplace-based industrial rehabilitative therapy services. There he pioneered an onsite rehabilitative therapy model that provides rehabilitative therapy directly in the workplace in connection with workplace injury. Prior to founding ArgosyHealth, Mr. Vandegrift was a founder and president of TherapyCare, a leading provider of rehabilitative therapy services for elder-care facilities, and Complete Care Services, a regional provider of management support services for long-term care facilities and continuing care retirement communities.

Mr. Vandegrift is a graduate of Bucknell University. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Gene McGuire, Chief Marketing Officer

Gene McGuire is the Chief Marketing Officer of Wellness Coaches USA. Gene has been a part of the Wellness Coaches USA executive team and shareholder since it was founded in 2002. As CMO for nearly 10 years, Gene has been and remains responsible for all sales and customer service functions of the Company.

Gene is a business professional with over 25 years of experience as a business manager, with an established record of achievement in the areas of sales, sales management, promotion, trade marketing, and customer service. He began his career with Bristol-Myers Squibb in a sales and customer service capacity. Responsibilities included sales & customer service management positions at regional and divisional levels, and two special assignments in corporate administration. Gene left BMS, to pursue opportunities at Novartis, where he managed the largest broker organization in the country. He was eventually promoted to National Account Manager. He joined William Wrigley Jr. Company in 2000 to manage national account sales & customer service for a newly created division of the company. He held this position until joining Wellness Coaches USA in 2002.

Gene is a graduate of King’s College.

Rob Putnam, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Rob Putnam is both the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Wellness Coaches USA. Rob has been a part of the Wellness Coaches USA executive team and shareholder since it was founded in 2002. Originally serving as the Company’s CFO, he was promoted to both CFO and COO in 2003. As COO and CFO for nearly the past 10 years, Rob has been and remains responsible for the day-to-day management of all the Company’s business operations and financial functions.

Rob began his career in the public accounting firm Ernst and Young in 1995. While at Ernst & Young, he specialized in the technology sector at two of the firm’s largest Philadelphia clients. In 1998, he left Ernst & Young to help build the accounting and finance departments at online retailer CDnow.com. While at CDnow, Rob helped build a start-up company with $6 million in annual sales to $150 million in annual sales in less than four years. Rob was an integral player on teams that performed two public offerings, a merger and two acquisitions during those same four years. After helping complete the successful sale of the business to BMG Music, Rob left CDnow to join the Wellness Coaches USA team in 2002.

Rob holds a BS in Business Administration from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania.

Meg Spencer, Manager of Training and Development

Ms. Spencer is currently Manager of Training and Development. Meg earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology (1993) and her Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts (1983) from the University of Delaware. Meg is also a certified WellCoach through Wellcoaches and an Intrinsic Coach through Totally Coached.

Meg joined Wellness Coaches USA in November of 2005. She started as a Wellness Coach for company clients in Delaware and was promoted to Senior Wellness Coach in 2006. With a particular interest and expertise in coaching methodology and developing the coaching platform, Meg was promoted to Manager of Training and Coach Development in 2008.

Prior to joining Wellness Coaches USA Meg had over 20 years’ experience in the Wellness Field. She was the fitness director for the YWCA of Delaware and a health consultant for DuPont, Astra-Zeneca, Delmarva Power and Bank of Delaware, as well as other corporate and non-profit agencies.
