Building Engagement

Half the Equation - Over the past few years workplace wellness coaching has emerged as the most effective choice for significantly improving employee health. However, though it has now been clearly demonstrated that wellness coaching does successfully improve individual behaviors and health, wellness coaching is only half of the equation. To truly deliver on the promise of wellness coaching to improve employee population health (including employees, their spouses, and retirees), workplace wellness initiatives must also stimulate very high levels of employee engagement in wellness coaching. That’s why our programmatic focus, first, is to continuously move very large numbers of employees to initiate and engage in coaching.

Reaching Out to All Employees - We do so by capitalizing upon our coaches’ physical presence in the workplace to personally reach out to, and build relationships with as many employees as possible, conducting a systematic and proactive flow of coach-initiated personal, one-on-one and face-to-face “engagement building” interactions with them. In addition, we will supplement our personal interactions with a series of small group educational sessions (to include spouses and retirees as appropriate and approved). During these, interactions and group educational sessions our coaches will undertake or provide some combination of the following, as customized for each of our customers.

  • Promote wellness values, and engagement in coaching
  • Promote participation in all other health management resources our customers offer their employees (i.e. disease management, EAP, Nurse Hotline or other telephonic/web-based resources)
  • Distribute and discuss health and wellness information
  • Help promote and implement structured health promotion programming (weight-loss competitions, walking/exercise programs, etc.).
  • Administer HRA's.
  • Administer, either on demand or via scheduled events, blood pressure and body composition testing,
  • Undertake telephonic and email communications with the more difficult to reach employees, and as appropriate, to supplement face-to-face interactions
  • Distribute hard copy newsletters or other promotional materials, selected from our comprehensive library of health and wellness topics, to employees and their families

In addition, we provide all employees and other employer constituent groups with a comprehensive array of online resources. Please see Technology Platform.
